In particular there is a diverse cast of intelligent women who show courage and tenacity in high-powered careers. In general, though, what you'll get here is a realistic, fascinating look at smart people doing smart jobs, and it's an intensely rewarding watch for those with the patience for the courtroom scenes. The other is that episodes vary wildly in content - the very darkest scenes can affect even adult viewers, but nothing graphic is ever shown directly. Usually this is to cut out saltier language and standard crime-scene blood (this show has some gore but is tame by police procedural standards). Play alongside the wisecracking Police Detectives Turino and Lamonte as they purge New York City of criminals and restore law and order.
